colorado

i've begun to notice that
on the mountains of colorado
when they are covered
entirely covered with white
there are moments
when you pause
and drink in the surroundings
and taste the crisp air
and swallow it after crunching
and everything looks brilliant
the hills are dusty and vibrant
and fade into sky at a point unbeknown
and trees of dark green with white tips
are scattered
or not scattered
in rows amongst the hills
and you feel a sort of connection
with everyone else passing by
as if
all together
we have stumbled upon something secluded
some uncharted land
that lifts our chilled spirits
as we slide through

hear you me by jimmy eat world

There's no one in town I know
You gave us someplace to go
I never said thank you for that
Thought I might get one more chance

What would you think of me now?
So lucky
So strong
So proud
I never said thank you for that
Now I'll never get the chance

May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in

And if you were with me tonight
I'd sing to you just one more time
A song for a heart so big
God couldn't let it live

for good from wicked

I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are lead to those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return.
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today because I knew you

Like a comet pulled from orbit as it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you,
I have been changed for good

It well may be that we will never meet again in this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made from what I've learned from you
You'll be with me like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend

Like a ship blown from its mooring by a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird in a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you,
I have been changed for good

"The creative act is not performed by the artist alone; the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act."
